Two different individuals from two different worlds, Mitsutada is an experienced swordsman whose focus is on decimating the History Revisionists whilst Nightingale is a marksman sniping down every single biotech-engineered abominations. Whether or not these two threats are related in some way has yet to be investigated. Kinda like your typical malewife x girlboss, sometimes.

One of the surviving Touken Danshi manifested by the late Saniwa before Hakuryu. In order to repay his new master’s trust, he took Hakuryu’s ‘impossible’ request to locate the latter’s cousin and succeeded. He is one of the honmaru’s main chefs.

Former special agent who used to be a part of counter-bioterrorism organization in a rather young age. Currently, she serves as one of her Saniwa cousin Hakuryu’s Number Two, focusing on gathering intel and sword fixing.

Days later after the Great Invasion and the retrieval of Mikazuki Munechika, Raikiri Hakuryu finally gains the Touken Danshi’s trust and privately discusses with Mitsutada if he is worthy enough find the former’s cousin who is currently in the 21st century as the Time Government currently fixing up their hijacked systems. Mitsutada agrees to take the task, but realizes he might encounter the unknown threat alone.
As he travels to the US, he meets Agent G who is also looking for her. The two decide to team up and look for the hidden base where Nightingale is resting. One moment they get surrounded by those things whom G referred as mutants, someone manages to blast the hordes off. That someone reveals to be one-limb-each Nightingale who was just woken up by coincidence.
“Ugh… Those guys are more persistent than Jikan Sokougun*!” “If I were you, I would gleefully ram them off since I’m using a wheelchair.” ”No! It’s uncool and splatters you with more blood!” ”Says the one who enjoys butchering some revisionists’ spleen.”*
Ever since Mitsutada and Nightingale were being told there was a major case that needed to be done, G along with other former AMS agents start to notice that she become chattier when she is around Mitsutada. They are visibly confused that this was not the Nightingale they know. Whatever the complications she has, they’d probably think she regained her humanity. They, including Nightingale, even notice the presence of the HRA among the mutants.
After the group manage to neutralize the Devil, Kate Green tries to tease both of them, only Mitsutada telling her off with embarrassed face. Nightingale, however, does not catch the hint until Mitsutada decides to accompany with her longer than what he agreed to his master. For him, getting her the prostheses is more important than bringing her back first so he texts his master renegotiate it. The gang fails to notice there is someone tailing them, possibly a Touken Danshi.
“Are you sure you want to be here much longer? I’m going to get adoption documents for Gretel.” “Of course. I want to be here for not only you, but also her.”
Nightingale is in constant dilemma when she felt something unknown towards Mitsutada. She constantly recalls every rejection from the people before him. Once her artificial limbs are set up, she decides to venture outside alone with her new customized weapon. Then she notices a little girl living in an old storehouse and rescues her from the incoming mutant attack. She stays with the aforementioned little girl, named Gretel, and gives her some food that she can eat. Knowing that the place is extremely unsafe, she suggests Gretel to stay in her apartment and also wants to test her bionic arm’s endurance while carrying the girl and her belongings. Nightingale takes a great care of Gretel even though she never had a kid before and reminiscing again while looking at her appearance. She starts to realize Gretel may look like someone in her past, then Mitsutada bustling in with Tsurumaru Kuninaga carrying a bouquet of flowers to tease both of them.
Nightingale is confused with two different problems that she can’t do anything. Mitsutada decides to take a glance at Gretel then asking the surviving locals if he can get some milk for her. Tsurumaru, while trying his best to soothe Gretel to sleep, begins spilling the beans to Nightingale that not only is her cousin still alive, he is also their master in the future timeline. He also informs that Hakuryu, or rather Magnus, is still anxious about her condition he finally sends other Touken Danshi (who is eligible enough to understand English) to help them file the documents that will be needed for migration there. Tsurumaru also suspects that Mitsu-bou has feelings for her which is why he brings a bouquet. Nightingale refuses to answer as she would prefer to confess it herself.
Once Mitsutada is home, Nightingale just informs him that she will bring Gretel together.

After Nightingale compiles every document and officially makes Gretel as her daughter, the found family manages to go to the Hakuryumaru in Winter 2213 along with the escorting Touken Danshi. Nightingale’s situation at that time is intense even Gretel remains in alert, scooping up to her adoptive mother’s embrace. Mitsutada tries his best to calm them down and Tsurumaru assures they won’t be treated harshly because of the similar case happened before and he hopes that they won’t get weirded out since they are going to have relatives.
